Dannelle's Testimony

My name is Dannelle Goyen Woody and I have been making jewelry for over 14 years.  Every design is inspired by a close relationship with Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Each piece is accompanied by a scripture and story behind its creation.
I am married to an awesome man, Tom my high school sweetheart since 1991 and have three wonderful children Hannah 17, Tyler 15 and Brock 14. My precious parents Dan and Genelle Goyen have been a great support emotionally spiritually and financially.
In 1994, I laid my eight-week-old son Tyler down for the night. Exhausted by my role as a new mommy, I soon fell into a deep sleep beside him. But in the middle of the night, God woke me up. I bolted to a sitting position and immediately checked on my son. To my shock, Tyler was turning blue! My newborn baby was not breathing, so I administered CPR to him and was able to revive him as the paramedics arrived. Later, in the hospital, while waiting for some important test results on my son's condition, I fell asleep from sheer exhaustion, and God gave me a dream in which I saw the image of a silver cross. On that cross was a shield--the shield of faith. When I awoke, I felt in my heart that God had given me a promise that my son was going to live.
The cross I saw in my dream was unforgettable so I recreated it in silver wire and wore it as a reminder that God had given me my son's life. At times people would ask about the piece around my neck and I would share the story of hope and miracle God had done for Tyler. Later, I felt led by God to retire my dental hygiene license and instead learn the art of silversmithing and jewelry design. I took classes in both Houston and Colorado, mentoring with highly-skilled artisans.
Each of my designs are first sculpted in wax and then cast in silver, gold, copper or brass. Bracelets, pendants, earrings and rings are crafted from vintage glass and crystal beads, as well as natural gemstones and unique hand-crafted beads.

In 2008, my dear friend Linda Kozar, an author approached me about teaming up with her to write a book of devotions. We were co-leading a bible study we named Babes With A Beatitude and she felt a serious call from God that we were to write the book she titled, Babes With A Beatitude--Devotions For Smart, Savvy Women of Faith. We worked hard. Our agent found us a publisher, Howard Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, and the rest is history!
